The Management of Chest Wounds (Collective Review)
Contributor(s):
International Abstract of Surgery DeBakey, Michael E. (Michael Ellis), 1908-2008
Publication:
Surgical Publishing Company of Chicago, March 1942
As part of his work with the Surgical Consultants to the Surgeon General during World War II, DeBakey mined the extant medical literature (and his own surgical experience) to produce this extensive review of chest trauma management in both civilian and military practice. This work helped support the development of the auxiliary surgical hospitals, and led to major changes in battlefield wound management.
