Left to right: Fogarty, Andrew A. DiPrete, J. Arthur Trudeau.. Fogarty credited Trudeau with bringing the plight of retarded children to his attention. The gift to the Parents Council also sparked complaints from other worthy organizations, and led Fogarty to use his next big prize--the Joseph Kennedy Award--to establish his own foundation.
