Abstract:
This paper was the first report of the use of a neurotransmitter agonist to localize and to quantify the magnitude of the effects of the neurotransmitter on local cerebral glucose utilization. It was also the first to provide evidence that the subthalamic nucleus was part of a dopaminergic pathway.
