Abstract:
This color illustrated postcard depicts a hospital ward for women and children in a Chinese hospital. Wooden beds line opposite walls of the room, each with a colorful blanket. Three nurses stand at various points in the room, all wearing a long, blue floral dress and long white apron. The patient in the first bed on the left is sitting up and eating a bowl of rice from a bed tray. Other women are either seated or reclining in bed. On the right side of the room a child with a gauze bandage wrapped around her head and covering her left eye sits on the edge of her bed. There are pictures on the walls and a large window at the end of the room.
