Abstract:
This black and white photographic postcard shows a scene of several people posed in front of a brick wall and around a young boy on a stretcher. A doctor in a white coat looks down thoughtfully at the boy. A nurse in a dark, long-sleeved dress, white apron and white veil sits next to the boy with her hands clasped. The role of the other people in the photograph is not clear, although several wear armbands with crosses on them. Several people are dressed in traditional Chinese clothing. The dark-haired boy lies on his side, facing the camera, and is covered in white blankets.
