Abstract:
This color illustrated postcard depicts an operating room scene. Four men, surgeons and nurses, in surgical gowns and caps gather around a patient, draped in white, on an operating table. One man is seated and appears to be performing the operation. Another man stands across from him gesturing. Two other men stand behind the seated doctor and observe the operation. A fifth man stands away from the group, near a cloth covered table with surgical instruments. The room contains a number of carts with equipment and round metal basins. There is a shelf on the wall behind the group with jars of colored liquid.
