Abstract:
Advertisement for Eau des Carmes Boyer, an alcoholic extract of lemon balm and other herbs. Card features a color illustration of two boys being surprised by a large jack-in-the-box, whose figure inside is alive and holding two wooden clubs, which he is using to attack the boys. The two boys are recoiling in fright and looking up in alarm as they take cover. The boys and the man inside the jack-in-the-box are wearing bright Renaissance-style clothing with high frilled collars. All around them are large bunches of colorful plants and flowers. The background of the illustration is a solid gold color.
