Abstract:
Advertisement for Fer Bravais concentrated iron drops, developed by French chemist Raoul Bravais. Card features a color illustration in caricature style of two men fighting in the street. Each man appears to have been walking his dog, whose leashes have somehow become wrapped several times around the men's legs, trapping them together. Each man holds a cane and is lifting it as if about to strike the other man. Their two dogs stand on either side of the men with their leashes taut as they resist being pulled forward by the quarrel. In the background a policeman can be seen running towards the scene. The man on the left is wearing a brown coat with checked trousers and has white spats over his shoes. He is also wearing brown gloves, a brown derby, a monocle and is clenching a cigar in his mouth. The other man has a blonde goatee and is wearing a blue coat, gray pants and a black hat. The illustration is surrounded by a gold rectangular border.
