Abstract:
Advertisement for Lecithin Clin. Card features a color illustration of King Charles X of France (1757-1836) signing the July Ordinances of 1830. He is wearing a blue military uniform and sitting at a table in a gold-plated chair upholstered in red. In his right hand he is holding a pen above a sheet of paper as if about to sign it. With his other hand he is motioning towards a man standing nearby, who appears to be remonstrating with the king. Two other men stand behind the table and look on. Below this main illustration is a depiction of both sides of a silver 1827 five-franc coin, which has the profile of Charles X on the obverse and a coat of arms on the reverse.
