Abstract:
Advertisement for pills and syrup of Blancard's iodide of iron. Card features a color illustration of a woman using a small twig or needle to prick the center of a sunflower. ("Piquer un soleil" is a French idiom meaning to blush suddenly.) A man wearing a straw hat and a red vest is standing nearby and watching the woman. He is resting his hands on the handle of a shovel stuck in the ground. The woman is wearing a white bonnet and a long dress with an apron. A silver watering can is on the ground beside them.
