Abstract:
Black and white postcard featuring an oval-shaped photographic portrait of two Latvian nurses with two female patients. The two patients each lie in bed, propped up on pillows with their arms outside the covers. One nurse stands behind a white table with a slight smile on her face. The other nurse sits at the foot of the bed on the right, looking ahead. Both nurses wear white uniforms with white veils with swastikas on them. During this time the swastika was a symbol of good luck and happiness. It is possible that these nurses were members of the Red Cross at the hospital in Leipaja.
