This color illustrated postcard advertises La Veldalice, a treatment to erradicate lice and nits in the hair. There are three sections on the card. The middle section advertises the product and gives price and ordering information. The product can be ordered from Mr. Oudet, pharmacien in Dole, Jura. The left hand section of the card depicts the old method of lice removal, which was messy and had poor results. A woman is sitting in a chair, leaning forward and grasping a young girl by the arm and combing her hair. The woman wears a red blouse, long gray skirt, and red shoes. Her dark hair is upswept into a bun. The girl, struggling to get away, is wearing a green and black striped dress with white pinafore. Both the woman and the girl appear angry. There is a round, open tin on the floor, presumably containing another product. On the right side of the card, the current method (La Veldalice) is described as hygienic and immediately effective. It shows a very relaxed woman and child. The woman sits back in the chair, wearing a long blue dress. She is holding a bottle of La Veldalice and combing the girl's hair. The girl wears a pink dress and is leaning against the woman.
