Abstract:
This postcard advertises the antidiarrheal medication Derbitan, made by Laboratorio Normon in Madrid. The front of the card shows a horse rearing up on its back legs. Behind it is a picture of intestines and in front a hand gripping reins. The back of the card lists the ingredients for both the adult and child preprations. Both contain bismuth, but the adult preparation also contains opium extract. It is indicated for use for intestinal infections, diarrhea, colitis and especially profuse diarrhea in children.
