Abstract:
Advertisement for Alcool de Menthe de Ricqlès. Card features a color illustration by Henry Gerbault (1863-1930) of a couple in a room. A woman with a big nose is sitting on a chair. A man is kneeling on the floor and kissing her hands. On a table there is a black top hat and a white vase shaped to have two big noses, one on each side of it. In the back, on a mantel sits a bust of a man with a big nose. The illustration is a visual depiction of the proverb, "A big nose never spoiled a handsome face."
