Abstract:
Advertisement for Alcool de Menthe de Ricqlès. Card features a color illustration by Henry Gerbault (1863-1930), depicting the Duke of Marlborough leaving for the war, and lyrics to a popular French song, "Malbrough s'en va-t-en guerre." The Duke is sitting on a fake horse created by two children wearing a horse costume. Their legs can be seen under the costume. A shaggy, white dog is walking in front of them and a crowd of people are seeing them off. On the verso is an illustration of a bottle of Alcool de Menthe de Ricqlès and a music score of the song "Malbrough s'en va-t-en guerre"."
