In this color postcard, a nurse is handing a white man a dark-skinned baby. The scene presumably takes place in the parlor or office of the home in which the birth has just taken place. The nurse, wearing a red dress, white apron and white cap, presents the baby, who is swathed in white cloth, to the man, who tips over his chair as he stands up in surprise.
