The postcard features a color drawing of a man sitting in the waiting room of a maternity ward, with an astonished and terrified expression on his face. He just overheard a conversation between two nurses from the adjoining room behind his back. One of them, a stout middle-aged blond, is holding a basket with a dog and her three puppies and is telling the other nurse: "Yes, just born, and fancy, one white and two black!"
