- Abstract:
- In this postcard, a nurse stands in the middle of four wounded soldiers. Two of them, dressed in Zouave style uniforms, are playing cards on a round white table. One wears white sirwal with a dark jacket lined in red and a red fez. His right arm is in a sling. The other wears dark red voluminous trousers with blue jacket lined in red and a red fez. He has a cigarette in his mouth. Standing next to the nurse and watching the game are two other soldiers. One is dressed all in blue, with amulets on his shoulder. The other, bending over slightly, also wears a dark uniform with a red cap and vizer. The nurse wears a long white uniform with white apron and veil. There are red crosses on her apron, left armband and veil trim. Her hands are folded at her waist and she looks down at the game with a smile on her face.
