Abstract:
This illustrated postcard depicts a German Red Cross nurse with a wounded solder at what appears to be a convalescent facility. The nurse and soldier stand at the top of a set of low, white steps. She wears a uniform of a blue dress and white apron and cap, and black shoes. There is a Red Cross pin on the front of her collar. She is pointing out something to the soldier who stands next to her, his left hand holding on to her right arm. He also supports himself with a cane in his right hand. He wears a dark uniform with cap. One foot wears a black shoe and the other a brown slipper. Behind them soldiers walk about or are seated in lawn chairs. Some have canes, and others bandages or slings. They are being tended by nurses. There are two buildings in the background.
