Abstract:
This postcard is a black and white image of Princess Gundelinde of Bavaria working as a nurse. She worked in the privite clinic of King Ludwig III's nephew, Prince Ludwig Ferdinand, M.D., who was the chief of surgery at the Military Hospital of Munich. In this image, Princess Gundelinde wears a white nurse's uniform with a Red Cross armband and cap. She holds a cup her left hand. In her right hand she is using a pair of forceps to hold a white cloth in a metal basin.
