This postcard was issued in the final year of the reign of Russian royalty. When World War I broke out, Olga Nikolaevna, her sister Tatiana, and mother Tsarina Alexandra Fedorovna became Red Cross nurses. The illustration shows a Russian aristocrat, probably Olga Nikolaevna, facing families of soldiers. She is hugging a little girl and an older woman. Two men are standing in the front. They appear to be soldiers coming back from the war. One of them has a bandaged head and his arm is in a sling. A Red Cross nurse is visible in the far left corner of the picture.
