Abstract:
Color drawing that represents Nurse Cavell who assisted in the escape of more than 200 soldiers. She was executed by firing squad Oct. 12, 1915. She appears to be floating over a hospital and injured soldiers. There is a wall inscribed with the following: Ave Cavell 1915. Verso: Many women have behaved very bravely, but you surpassed them all. Salomone, XXX[L]-29.
