A woman on the right is sitting on a bench holding a chalice with a snake around it in one hand. There is a book on her other side. In the center is a faded background of mountain scenary with 2 men carrying an injured person in a stretcher. An Italian flag and Red Cross flag are on the left side, with an emblem in the front and a laurel plant next to it. What appear to be artist initials are in the lower right-hand corner.
