Abstract:
Black and white photograph of Duchess Millicent, seen in slight profile wearing a black cape, with other nurses. During WWI she organized an ambulance service that served at the siege of Namur, Belgium. She was trapped in Belgium, but escaped back to England. She returned to France in October 1914 to direct field hospitals.
