This color photograph displays two training dolls used by South Carolina midwife supervisor Laura Blackburn (1891-1955) depicting traditional and modern styles of midwife dress. The traditional doll was made by Laura Blackburn around 1950. These are part of NLM's American College of Nurse-Midwives archives.
