Part of the Humboldt Library of popular science literature, no. 36. Huxley took on the mission of bringing Darwin's ideas to the British public. His lectures explained evolutionary theory to the working classes and discussed its religious implications -- he coined the term "agnostic" to describe his position of reasoned doubt.
