Wilbur A. Sawyer and fellow medical residents at Massachusetts General Hospital
Wilbur A. Sawyer and fellow medical residents at Massachusetts General Hospital
Sawyer received his MD from Harvard Medical School in 1906, and did his medical residency at Massachusetts General Hospital from 1906 to 1908. While there he took a series of photographs of the hospital and grounds, staff nurses, and fellow medical residents. The caption on the back of the photograph reads: "Medical 'Mokes[?]': East: Spooner, Gregg, Kinnicutt, Chapin; West: Sawyer, Smith, Young, Sadler." It is assumed that "East" and "West" refer to the location of each individual's home or where they attended school.
