In this article, Freis provided a personal chronicle of his investigations into hypertension and its treatment; it was presented as the Eighteenth Oscar B. Hunter Memorial Award Lecture in Therapeutics at the Seventy-third Annual meeting of the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, March 9-10, 1972, Houston, Texas.
