Diodrast (iodopyracet) was a contrasting agent used to track areas of activity in the kidneys. This study used Diodrast tagged with radioactive iodine given to subjects in a test dose prior to the regular dose, improving the accuracy of the technique. This article further demonstrates how kidney disease was assessed in the 1950s, including the cases resulting from hypertension.. Presented at the Regional Meeting of the American College of Physicians in Washington, DC, November 1, 1958.
