In this article, Freis discussed the antihypertensive effectiveness of chlorothiazide and similar diuretics. In it, he noted that these agents work best primarily in conjunction with other drugs, such as ganglion-blockers or alpha-blockers.. Presented at the Third International Pharmacologic Congress under the auspices of the International Union of Pharmacology, Sao Paulo, Brazil, July 24-30, 1966.
