Abstract:
Freis retired from full time duties at Georgetown School of Medicine and the Veterans Administration Hospital in 1987, though he continued research and writing for many years after. Cohn's letter reflects on Freis's influence as a teacher and researcher.. NOTE: Even though the letter is dated January 2, 1986, the correct date is January 2, 1987, as the retirement party for Freis was not announced until December 1986.
