Late in his career, Freis wrote more frequently about emerging treatment issues in hypertension, such as managing treatment for older patients. In this short article, he provided a brief overview of the treatments for hypertension, as well as some precautions that can be taken so that elderly patients could better tolerate antihypertensive drugs.
