This follow-up to earlier reports on the enzyme system adenylate cyclase finds that activators of excitatory acetylcholine in hybrid cells have "both transient and long-lived effects" that may be involved in transmission across certain synapses. The experimental evidence points to an increase in enzyme release as regulated by neuroreceptors.
