Abstract:
This particular Pogo comic strip captured Dr. Lederberg's fancy so much that he requested his own copy from the strip's creator, Walt Kelly. Published in 1959, the strip reflected Lederberg's own interests in "defending the moon." In exchange, Lederberg gave Kelly a reprint of his own work on a similar subject.
