Abstract:
Macfarlane was a professor at the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania. In this letter Sabin politely declines Macfarlane's invitation to help raise funds for WMCP, saying that she is "skeptical as to the necessity and the wisdom of maintaining a medical school by and for women at this time in the United States."
