Cytogenetic Studies of Maize and Neurospora
Contributor(s):
Carnegie Institution of Washington Yearbook McClintock, Barbara, 1902-1992
This article addressed the many new mutations McClintock was able to produce during her 1944 experiments with plant B-87. In them, she was able to produce seven or eight mutable genes that spontaneously mutated then reverted during plant growth. Prior to this, only two mutable genes had been found in maize.
