Abstract:
In this grant application, Crick criticized prevailing models of the brain derived from computer science and called for a new theory to explain information processing in the brain, which he hoped to develop by studying the neurobiology of the visual system in humans. The application gives a concise description of Crick's theoretical work in neurobiology at the Salk Institute.
