Abstract:
Alphonse Dochez, a colleague and roommate of Avery's for over thirty-five years, penned this brief remembrance of his old friend. In an otherwise perfunctory obituary that recalled the scientist's considerable professional accomplishments, Dochez's final paragraph related some of his personal admiration and affection for his lost friend. A bibliography of Avery's published work is included.
