Abstract:
In this letter sent to Turgut Ozal, then Prime Minister of Turkey, Anfinsen wrote to urge the release of surgeon Nihat Sargin, who was sentenced to thirty-six years in jail, was likely tortured in state custody, and was considered a "prisoner of conscience" by several international human rights organizations.
