Abstract:
This postcard was issued as part of the Safe sex is hot sex series of posters and postcards, one of the first HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns. It was commissioned by the Red Hot Organization and featured photographs by Bruce Weber and Steven Meisel. It was related to the Red Hot + Dance album, a remix album issued by the Red Hot Organization that focused on young people affected by AIDS. The card features two naked men embracing on a beach. The man on the left is seated with his legs out in front of him. He has a tattoo on his right shoulder. He is leaning over and another man with his left arm around the man's shoulders. The second man is lying between the first man's legs, his face against his chest and his left hand on his waist. The text "Safe sex is hot sex" is in red block letters at the top and bottom of the card.
