Kimberly Bergalis, person with AIDS/Dr. David Acer, dentist
This trading card briefly documents the life of Kimberly Bergalis, one of five patients who were infected with the HIV virus by a dentist, Dr. David Acer. Bergalis was diagnosed with AIDS in 1990, and it was later discovered that unsterilized dental equipment was the likely transmission route. Bergalis died in 1991, shortly after Acer's death in 1990. The cards were distributed in sets, each packet containing one condom and 12 collector's cards of people and topics related to AIDS.
