Abstract:
Among others at the Senate labor and health appropriations subcommittee are Drs. Richard Krause, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Donald S. Fredrickson, director of the National Institutes of Health, and Ruth Kirschstein, director of the National Institute of General Medical Sciences. Directly across the table are Gar Kaganovich, Richard Schweiker, senator from Pennsylvania, and Charles Mc Mathias, senator from Maryland. On top of the table are green felt rectangles, pitchers, water glasses, file folders, and binders. The room is crowded with people. Behind a row of people, closing off a doorway, is an enclosed case. There is a wall hanging of a woman.
