A truck with its back doors opened sits in front of a 19th-century building that has been converted into a military hospital. (Below the pediment is incised: "Turnverein Borna 1844.") Two servicemen carry a wounded soldier on a stretcher from the truck toward the open door of a building. Other servicemen and medical personnel stand chatting and watching.
