To mark the 100th anniversary of the Red Cross, World Health the magazine of the World Health Organization, publishes a Red Cross Centenary Album. During the wars and internal disturbances which broke out between 1864 and 1914 the Red Cross came to aid the victims, and under its emblem volunteers, doctors, nurses, helpers and donors tried to alleviate suffering, protect the weak, and nurse the sick and the wounded.
