A man is manipulating mechanical arms used for handling radioactive materials to prevent human exposure to radiation. Verso: WHO/3662. General-Atomic Radiators. During its fourth session held recently in Geneva, the WHO Comittee on Professional and Technical Education of Medical and Auxiliary Personnel, considering that the radioactive contamination of any inhabited area presents a major public health problem, drew up a training schedule for all categories of public health personnal. Our photo shows one of the numerous ingenious devices permitting the handling of radioactive substances at a distance to avoid radiation exposure.
