Half-length, seated at a desk, right profile; wearing white lab coat and cap, gesturing with left hand, right hand holding glasses. Verso: WHO/10478. France- Medical Services. Doctors in France. In a special issue World Health presents seven leading figures of French medicine: a paediatrician, a public health specialist, a cancer speacialist, a psychiatrist, a surgeon, a urologist, and a heart specialist. They are all reprentatives of the great humanist tradition of French medicine, which has led France doctors to play a full part in the life of their times and to give the individual huam being pride of place in the practice of medicine. Our photo shows Professor Roger Forment, a cardiologist and a lover of art and of travel, who puts the doctor on guard against the temptations of our time: "The more technical possibilities of medicine increase, the more the patient needs the protection of the doctor's ethics."
