Studies undertaken amond populations considered to be primitve may bring increased understanding of soical mechanisms among people convinced that they have attained the highest degrees of refinement. For the student of mental health, this young mother from New Guinea (WHO/4543) is perhaps no less interesting than the group of young European males engaged in a drinking bout (8180).
