World Health Day marks the anniversary of the coming into force of the constitution of the World Health Organization (WHO) on 7 April 1948. In recent years, great strides have strides have been mase in combating cancerous diseases. With every day that passses advances are made in diagnosis and treatment. Modern surgery, drugs and x-rays and other radiations, used singly or in combination, have transformed the treatment of this group of diseases. In some cases, complete cure of cancer is now possible and almost all cancers can be controlled.
