Six vignettes depicting various devices and methods for taking the cold water cure: sitting in tubs of cold water(the cool tankard); getting showered upon (the water butt, the spout, and the pump); soaking feet in a bucket of ice (the ice pail); and being wrapped in blankets that are subsequently soaked with cold water (the water bed).
