- Abstract:
- This film documents a cooperative effort to offer reproductive care and sterilization to women in Thailand and Laos, particularly those living in remote hill regions in Northern Thailand. Using laparoscopic techniques, the clinic can complete the sterilization procedure in a single visit, making it accessible to women who must travel long distances on foot to reach the facility, and who live in areas without routine access to contraceptive methods and medical care. Women arrive in groups, bringing husbands and children along, and husbands are presented as supportive of their partners' choice to limit future childbearing. Following the procedures, buses drive the families back to their homes.
